TY Day Trip
On Monday 7th April, the TYs enjoyed a day trip to Dublin city centre. To start the day, we went to the Laughter Lounge on Eden Quay where we saw a comedy show based on the life of teenagers. We all found this relatable, enjoyable and funny. There were laughs from everyone and it was good to see the whole year out together enjoying themselves especially as the year is too quickly coming to an end.
After lunch we split into 2 groups with one group going to a Seamus Heaney exhibition, held in the Bank of Ireland Cultural and Heritage centre. The centre is full of Heaney’s original manuscripts, letters, diary entries, notebooks and unpublished works. The 2nd group went to the W.B. Yeats library, where they were given a guided tour of the museum where many original pieces had been donated by Yeats’ family.
We all enjoy school trips to new places and this one was no different. Overall it was an interesting and fun day for everyone in TY. Míle buíochas don foireann go léir a chur an turas le chéile. (Elena Byrne)
