Annual School Mass

29-September-24
Annual School Mass

This annual special occasion marks the beginning of a new academic year. It provides us with the opportunity to come together as a community to seek God's blessing upon our school and all who are connected to it. Our Mass symbolises the continuation of our rich Catholic tradition deeply rooted in the values of the school’s founding congregation - the Dominican Sisters. We find meaning, purpose, and hope through our faith.

This year's theme is Building Relationships - Relationships are the cornerstone of our school community. They are:

The bonds that connect us,

the bridges that span our differences,

and the foundations upon which we build a culture of respect, compassion, and understanding.

Relationships are the bedrock upon which we learn, grow, and thrive. Our relationships with one another are significant every day. Whether we are students, teachers, staff, or parents, we are all members of the Dominican College family.

Our school community came together in the beautiful St. Vincent de Paul Church, Marino, to mark the beginning of our new academic year. The annual opening school mass was a heartwarming occasion filled with prayer, song, and reflection.

Fr Tom & our chaplain, Mr McCartney led us through a meaningful ceremony that celebrated our shared faith and our hopes for the year ahead. The readers, choir and Trad Group performed beautifully. Well done & a huge thank you to all involved.

We congratulate all our Prefects who were presented with their Prefects badges as they take up their leadership roles for the year ahead.

As we move forward into this new school year, we bring lessons and blessings of our mass today with us to serve as a compass, guiding us through the challenges and triumphs of the academic year ahead.
