We celebrated Le Chéile Day on Thursday, 6th March. This is a celebration of the 72-plus schools that have come together to celebrate the wonderful diversity of our Catholic schools. We had a theme of “spreading kindness”.
Some of our 5th Year students came up with the idea of getting student council reps and some staff members to go on a secret mission to find acts of kindness with our school. They were armed with a pen and paper and set off. By the afternoon we had many names from all our year groups who had performed acts of kindness throughout the day. We also had people nominated who had shown acts of kindness in the days previous, which we believed was very special. We called on our SNA’s, our office staff, and our caretaker Damien, with a special mention for all the kindness they show throughout the year.
Each person who was called over the intercom for their kindness was awarded with an act of kindness from us as a school with a good old Fredo bar of chocolate. They then all went back to their classes with a Fredo bar for everyone in the audience as a token to say, let us keep spreading kindness - not just on Le Chéile day but every day.
