The Under 16 Ladies Gaelic Football season has kicked off for Dominican College, Griffith Avenue, and the team has been training tirelessly since the end of August in preparation. Every Tuesday after school, the dedicated players spend an hour sharpening their skills and building team chemistry and friendships in anticipation of the campaign ahead.
In their opening game, Dominican College faced familiar opponents, St. Mac Dara’s from Templeogue, in a hard-fought match at Ellenfield Park. After a determined performance, Dominican College emerged victorious, showcasing their hard work and resilience on the pitch. Their second game, held at Whitehall Colmcille G.A.A grounds, saw them take on St. Mary’s Glasnevin. In a tightly contested match, both teams battled fiercely, and a draw was the fairest outcome.
With just one group game remaining, Dominican College will face Loreto, Dalkey, as they aim to secure their place in the next stage of the competition. A special thanks go to the local G.A.A clubs, Na Fianna, St. Vincent's, and Whitehall Colmcille, for their continued support. Additionally, football management would like to thank all the parents and guardians who have cheered them on throughout the campaign, encouraging the players every step of the way.
