Our Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment are displayed in the main entrance hall of the school.
All Board of Management members, teaching and ancillary staff along with parents where desired have completed the TUSLA, PDST and Legal Island online training modules for Child Protection. Teachers are reminded of their obligations as mandated persons and the importance of how we manage child protection and welfare concerns. Child Protection information is included in our Teachers Handbook. Teachers are also vetted through the Teaching Council while all other staff are vetted through the Joint Managerial Body (JMB).
The DES Inspectorate Guidelines for Child Protection and Safeguarding Inspections demands that schools maintain high standards in all activities relating to Child Protection. The Principal presents a Child Protection Oversight Report at each Board Meeting, The Board of Management Reviews the Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment on an annual basis.
