Dominican College fully adopted G Suite for Education and Chromebooks in August 2018. Increasing engagement with digital technologies was viewed as an opportunity to have a significant impact on learning, teaching and assessment for our students and teachers. We were proudly recognised as a Google Reference School in June 2020. This status is awarded to schools that are using Google for Education tools in creative, innovative or exemplary ways. Google reference school status provides recognition of our use of technology in the classroom to positively impact the education of our students and their learning.

How we do things in Dominican College has changed dramatically. We now have the platform and tools to maximise collaboration and communication in real time and to promote creativity using G Suite for Education. Students are at the heart of everything that we do and together, G Suite for Education and Chromebooks have helped students to engage more enthusiastically with their learning. Working at school and at home is now more seamless and efficient for teachers and students. Teachers can share and collect materials and assignments with ease and the Senior Leadership Team can connect, communicate with and empower staff and students by providing the devices, training and time to support this journey. This was never more crucial than in the Distance Learning phase from March-May 2020.
